Chris Tierney

Chris was a two-time All-State pitcher/first baseman at Lockport Township  High School. As a high school player, Chris committed to the University of Arkansas to pitch in the Southeastern Conference. However, after the Royals selected him in the 7th round of the 2001 MLB Draft, Chris decided to forgo his commitment to Arkansas and sign professionally.

Chris pitched 11 years of professional baseball with the Royals and Padres organizations before retiring in 2011. Since then, he has stayed involved in the game through private instruction and scouting for professional organizations. Chris has coached privately since 2004, and most recently served as a scout with the Cleveland Indians.

Chris believes that not only is the physical factor important to the progress of a player, but the mental game plays a huge part in advancing to the next level.
